Fun loving and active group of people

To Alphorn Ski Association membership –

The Alphorn Executive Board wants to let you all know how much we miss seeing you, and our ‘taken for granted’ social gatherings, dinner meetings, picnics, treasured friendships.

On Friday the Alphorn Board held a virtual Meeting. Going forward from here – all Alphorn events are TBD or postponed. That includes the upcoming May dinner meeting at Cock ‘n Bull. The annual June picnic is also TBD, but very likely postponed. The July 4th membership gathering at Tinicum Park or any membership bike rides are TBD. We sincerely, hope that by September the annual Patio Party may be reinstated, but at this time it is also TBD.

No one really knows when the PA/N.J. lockdowns will be lifted – and when it occurs, how long will it take before everyone feels ‘comfortable’ going to a restaurant? The Board will continue to keep you informed of any changes to dates or plans for club social gatherings and when it becomes possible again. The Alphorn Newsletter will continue to be distributed, as usual. But, remember during the summer months, usually there are only 1 or 2 newsletters.

On behalf of the Alphorn Executive Board, we want to wish every one of our precious Alphorn friends a safe, healthy and ‘happy as possible’ Spring and Summer season. We must practice ‘safety first’, and continue to do as ordered by the governors of our states.  At some point – this will end.

The best we can all do currently is to keep our spirits up, and continue to look forward to the coming better days. Go outside and enjoy your yard and the sunny Spring and Summer blue sky.   Enjoy the beautiful dark green grass, lots of flowering trees, bushes, and ground flowers that will surround us all, within the coming months.  Speak often with your family and friends, via Zoom, FaceTime, telephone – and even if possible, on your driveway or patio (socially distanced as recommended).

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.   We miss you.   Please ‘stay tuned’ for any further updates on club happenings as they may occur.

On behalf of the Executive Board - - Andrea Bergeron, Sunshine Committee

Alphorn Ski Club of Bucks County was founded in 1975 by local ski enthusiasts. As a ski club, we co-ordinate trips to explore destinations in the United States. And every year we offer an organized ski trip to Europe with our own experienced trip leader to destinations like Gstaad and Davos in Switzerland, Ischgl and Bad Hofgastein-Salzburg in Austria, and Chamonix in France. In addition, we plan several organized and impromptu local area ski days. As a member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Ski Council, we extend our ski trips to, as well as participate in other ski club's trips. All ski trips are designed to accommodate the beginner, novice and expert skiers and boarders- young and old alike. We also offer activities for non-skiers as well. We believe friendship is more important than ability so after a day on the slopes, we enjoy getting together to eat, drink and tell stories about the day.
