Our Winter Calendar

Our holiday dinner party at the Plumsteadville Inn was a fun celebration with Christmas Carols led by Robbie and the Robettes, an amazing redition of 12 Days of Christmas and our "Chinese" gift exchange led by Dave. This year the most "stolen" gifts were the alpaca socks and the ski socks. Our meals were delicious and everyone enjoyed this popular event and left with a beautiful poinsettia to prepare for Christmas.

Bulls Island to Frenchtown Bike Ride

What a beautiful day for a bike ride! Roy led our group of 10 Alphorn bikers on this 18 mile trip to Frenchtown and back. We enjoyed a delicious lunch outdoors at the Cocina Del Sol. Robbie and her dog joined the lunchtime treat.  After lunch we had a leisurely ride back to Bulls Island where we said our goodbyes, thankful for another successful outing.

Alphorners enjoyed time together on June 9^th at the Bishop Estates Winery.   The weather was perfect, low humidity, lots of sun, and we had a spot in the shade, under the trees.  Sixteen members and two guests had time to enjoy the afternoon together.   The Chicken Buffalo was delicious, thank you Carole!    It’s always a popular event and we will be back there again.

A beautiful day for a picnic as Jan hosted the annual fun filled pool party/picnic at the Clark ranch'

The Tinicum Fireworks and Symphonia on 6/29 began well, overcast with a nice breeze and 17 Alphorners had a good time catching up on news.  The Symphony started playing at 8 PM and the rain started by 8:15.   Most of our group packed up and got to our cars before the downpour.   Unfortunately, the Symphony needed to stop when the lightning started.   The fireworks did go off during the rain, they seemed to be ignited quickly one after the other rather than any wait time between.   We had 6 hardy members who sat it out under their umbrellas.  Warmer than being in a snowstorm, eh?

We had 16 members at our first Summer Dine around on July 17^th.   The weather was steamy outside, but we were very comfortable dining inside.   Mickey loved those oysters.

Thirteen lucky Alphorners dined at the Black Bass in Lumberville on August 14^th.   We had a beautiful view in a private room overlooking the river and the air conditioning was good to enjoy on a hot night.   FYI – George Washington did not sleep there.   The inn was built in the 1740’s and during the American Revolution the proprietor was a Tory who denied Washington accommodations when he asked to stay there.
